Ken Inman with a couple of Walleye and Cats taken 10/8/10. Walleye taken while trolling and the cats caught on night crawlers.
Water Temp = 70 degrees, main lake clear, river arms stained.
Fishing overall has started to perk up a bit. The water temp should start going down a bit more the next week with our day time highs fore casted to be 70 and the lows around 45 degrees. When our water temp hits 60 the fishing should really get good.
Walleye---Fair---You can catch a couple, but they are on a tough bite. Troll deep divers in 25 feet of water near the main channel. Night crawlers in 20-30 feet of water has also produced some fish.
White bass--Fair to Good--Quite a few have been caught trolling deep divers in the main channel. Use white colors that dive 25 feet down.
Catfish--Good to excellent---Use stink baits in 4-15 feet of water. You can really improve yours odds by throwing out sour grain where you fish.
Small & Large mouth bass--Poor to fair--I have been hammering the Smallies while fishing with minnows for Walleye. I have stopped fishing with minnows for a while because of this. Most of them are 10-13 inches long. Plastic baits have not been working well for the bass lately, but you can still get a few--fish main points on the lake in 5-15 feet of water.
FISH-ON,
Rob & Maria
