Arnie and grandson Johnny from Las Cruces with limits of Walleye taken 7/6/10.
Jordan Ward from Clovis, N.M. with a 4.91 pound Large mouth taken 6/30/10.
Ish and Lidia from Roswell N.M. with limits of Walleye taken 7/5/10.
Water temp = 75-76 degrees, main lake clear, river arms stained.
Not allot of fishing pressure the last week, but the fish are on a great bite. The more boats on the water seems to put the fish into a feeding mode. I had 2 trips the last 3 days with excellent results on both of them. Limits of Walleye in less than 3 hours of fishing on both trips!!!! Now is the time to book your trip if you are interested in catching and eating a mess of Walleye. We have been catching a few fish in the 20-22 inch range along with 16-19 inchers filling out the limits.
Walleye--Excellent--Trolling cranks over brush in 10-20 feet of water.
Small mouth--Good to Excellent--We are catching quite a few while going after the Walleye. If you are just fishing for bass, I would think you could catch a bunch of them.
Large mouth--Good--Some nice ones being caught --fish shallow points near deeper water using red crawdad baits.
White bass--Poor--We have not caught one in the last week.
Crappie--Poor--I don't know what to tell you on these guys.
Catfish--Good to Excellent--Fish in 4-8 feet of water near or in the brush. Sonny's Sticky bait continues to get them along with chicken liver.
FISH-ON,
Rob & Maria
